That's a tough question. Personally, I think we have had enough peeps at 8psi for a long enough time with no problems that the 8psi level has proven itself safely do-able.

The 9-10psi population is growing and may well prove to be safe as well. I'm not 100% convinced on this one, but I'm confident enough to jack my own boost up to 10psi next spring after I upgrade a few things (injectors & straight pipe to start with, then if needed, Kami headers, oil cooler, JR BTC, J&S).

Of course, if we start seeing a bunch of 9-10psi casualties before then, I could change my mind!

Well I'm in the midst of getting some Venom's... or trying... but im out for getting some 500cc's ... Around my area here most people are using RC 440's... but the Venom's should burn better... a 500 or 550 will work great... but it should be noted that im running with extra fuel and timing adjustment systems... ... i dont believe it'll idle with anything more then 320cc with just the regular computer... correct ?

Also... I might add i only have a RS motor... with the low compression i'm hoping to juice the thing... guys around here once tuned hit 12psi ... for the street... a little higher with race gass on strip days..

Couple more questions... will the B&M commandflo/Cartech combo be sufficient to dial my baseline NA FP down to the suggested 35psi or so for use with 320cc injectors, and still provide the latitude to provide adequate fuel under full boost conditions? I just don't know, so I'm asking.

When I was at the tuners place the other day, they had this nifty little FP guage that replaced the bolt that holds the fuel line into the fitting againt the firewall (sorry for the laymans terms). It seemed like the kind of thing that could just be installed there for convenient tuning use. Where can I get one of those?

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the help.

    MDA -

I got mine to idle with a set of 380 Venoms in but in order to do so without getting a CE light I had to ditch the OE regulator and drop my idle pressure to 20psi.

Didn't idle rough at all and started perfect except for once in a great while after it was hot then sat for 20min or so. Not sure why on that though.

nexusone: That "thing" was a banjo bolt with a 1/8" NPT socket on top. It comes with the B&M filter top fuel pressure gauge.

Buying the gauge is the only way I know of to get the bolt.

    nexusone,

If you're running a high output fuel pump you won't be able to lower the baseline fuel pressure using a B&M CommandFlow alone. You either have to bypass or remove the OE regulator as it's too restrictive to pass the volume of fuel delivered by a high output fuel pump.

Rafe: Maybe this would be a good time for you to "re-publish" your fuel bypass invention.

I'm sure I'd be bugging you for details again at some point anyway!

    Thanks,

i personally choose RC310. venom, never tried it, never knew anyone that uses venom, we all stuck with RC. and i dont think there is a 290cc injector, i think its 270, 310, 370....then i dont know. never used anything beyond 370.

course i also have a 5th injector now that i added direct port nos. hey i need to cool down the charged 10lb of boost anyways. my engine is running great. btw supercharge with nos is pretty sweet combo, and watch out for ur neck too. i am only doing a 80shot right now, i wired that when nos is activated, the 5th injector kicks in to supply more fuel.....but it is messy tho.

btw its a built motor, i am pretty sure the stock motor will hang with 10psi. i think it should since there ar lots of turbos out there running 10 12psi with no problem as long as u have enough fuel, and the right timing. so 10psi is very doable with stock motor.

boost and trigger happy (nos). hee hee
